OUR SERVICES
All Star provides a variety of moving services for all sorts of moving needs. We’re specialists in both local moves and long-distance moves, including cross-country moving services.
Exclusive Use Dedicated Truck Moves
There are several customers that find they have sold their home quicker than expected and do not have a new location picked yet. In this case, S.I.T. is your best option. Our experienced crews will come out to your home, load your shipment like a local move and bring your items into our heated warehouse located in Edmonds, WA. This service is typically charged on an hourly basis. If your shipment is going to be in storage for less than 90 days, we keep it on the main short term staging area close to the loading dock so that it is quick to unload and reload. Unfortunately, this service leads to your household items having to be moved twice, however, it is handled by the same crew and the same company within our safe and secure warehouse facility. When you have chosen your new home location, connect our office and we will coordinate a time to move you either locally or across the country. If you find that you require storage longer than 90 days, we may have to move your shipment into one of our individual units on the second floor. This will result into an additional relocation warehouse charge. We have moved thousands of customers using our S.I.T. service and they are extremely happy to have experienced their move with one company rather than having to move into a random mini storage (which is usually not heated or secure) and then start the process all over again finding movers again. Please call or email us today and tell us your story. We are here to help!
All your moving needs.
In addition to pianos and hot tubs, we also move other large items. For example, we’ve moved some impressive pool tables over the years. And when it comes to moving heavy equipment, no one beats All Star. Long years of practice give us a facility with large, complicated moves few others can match. If you have a heavy item in need of moving, All Star is your answer.
Exclusive Use Dedicated Truck Moves
Dedicated truck moving services is what we offer our clients. We normally run a 26' Moving truck professionally equipped and ALL YOURS. Our family owned and operated crews will focus on your shipment only and send a truck that can normally fit into neighborhoods that big rigs cannot. This saves you costly shuttles and confusion with what you had and when you will see it again. We have found that there is a great demand for our Dedicated Truck Moving Service. It has long been an industry standard to run large 48' or 53' tractor trailers for interstate moving. This can and is usually advantageous to the carrier (moving company) to do this because we are able to put multiple shipments in the same load increasing the income for the run and decreasing fuel cost by consolidating loads. Unfortunately, if you have ever moved this way you may have experienced at least one or more of the following downfalls from this method:
01 Handling
The first and most obvious issue is that your goods are handled several times. Your movers will most likely inventory your furniture and boxes with stickers to make sure that your load is not mixed up with other shipments and is a fairly effective method but has its problems. Stickers will fall from the moving pads during the handling process. Your shipment is typically picked up in a smaller local truck and brought into the warehouse where it is unloaded while waiting for other shipments that coincide with the routing of yours. Eventually when there are enough combined loads to fill the trailer, your load will loaded from the warehouse staging area to the semi-truck loading area and then loaded onto your big trailer. This is one of the first pinch points where now at least three sets of hands (crews) have been on your shipment just to get it onto the trailer. Each phase opens opportunities to get pieces mixed up and unfortunately it happens more often than you would think. Even the best will admit that.
02 Timeline
Secondly, the timeline for your delivery usually has a 14–21 day delivery window and can leave you without your belongings for longer than you wish. You normally cannot communicate directly with the driver until the day of delivery if you are lucky and that can be frustrating. Also, your bid will be based on actual weight of the shipment after they pick it up and that number has a lot of ways to become, let’s just say, quite variable at times depending on a lot of factors. This may lead to your final bid becoming quite surprising.
03 Size
Thirdly, depending on the neighborhood, town, county regulations and weight restrictions for the local roads near your pick and or destination, you may get a big shock when you informed that the large semi cannot fit in the parking area or even the neighborhood. This is when you will hear about the famous "shuttle" charge. The large semi will have to park blocks or miles away from your home, and they will have to rent a smaller truck or the van line will bring in their "local affiliate" who is usually all too happy to have the extra work. A 5,000lb shuttle can easily cost $1500-$2000 ADDITIONAL to your bid.
